Wednesday, April 2 at John Barleycorn in Schaumburg. Sometime in the evening. We will be meeting with a representative.
I have no evidence that there was any voter fraud in the polls. It does IP filtering, so you can't vote more than once from the same computer. Yes, I realize you could vote from multiple different computers. Again, sorry to anyone who can't make it, but there's no possible way to make sure everyone is available.

Whats up people? Sounds like you guys have been hard at work on this for a while. everything sounds great....I just suggest that we do keep it kind of cheap during these hard economic times. but whatever. also when are we going to get the invites so people can start planning for their personal lives?
I know I personally appreciate everything that you all have done and if you need any help, let me know. I drive through most of the NorthWest Suburbs everyday. and I have a decent amount of free time at work. Kinda slow. Look forward to seeing you all! PEACE
The date is already set; September 6, 2008. I can't see that changing unless they can't any venue, but even that is being nailed down. I'm sure invites will be going out as soon as they get all the concrete info /location/time/ . But for people that need to start "planning for their personal lives" -- most of the info needed right now is out there -- the date. Either you can make it or not. I can't imagine the time and venue being an issue if someone can or can't make it.
Time and place can be very important for those people who might have to work on the weekend or have kids to plan for babysitting. don't just write that off because some people don't have to worry about that kind of stuff.
i'll try and make it on the 2nd. I've stopped traveling for a while now so i've got time to help out with whatever! Same as a few other folks have said, i've been working in the meeting/event industry for a while now so anything i can do to help, just ask!
Hello all! I've been reading all of your comments so far, admittedly slacking on the whole deal. HI!
Um, I live in Denver now, so as much as I'd like to come hang on April 2nd, I can't :( And when did Schaumburg become cool enough to get a Barleycorn's?! What?
Anyway, thanks to all who have been coordinating the effort. I will hopefully be attending the reunion in September though! Might be moving back to the midwest after I finish the ol' Masters.
cheers!

I'll be flying back into town on the 2nd oddly enuf. But I won't be back til like 6/7. Do we have a more accurate timing for this meet? Thanks!
Hello Everyone,
We are going to meet with the Party Coordinator, Crystal at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2.
The invite is open to anyone who wants to come down to Schaumburg. We will be discussing pricing, food and entertainment. Let's all meet in the lobby at that time.
Is it ok if I show up later since my flight doesn't land til 6?
I'm sure that won't be a problem. We will see you there!
I'll do my best :) Hope to see you all again soon! Do you guys know how late you will be there til most likely?
Thanks to everyone working on this whole big event. Hopefully I can get the day off if it's my Saturday to work.
I have no ties to businesses or anything of the sort but I'm back in Schaumburg so if there's something I can do just let me know.
Hi Everyone,
If you are coming to the meeting tomorrow at Barleycorn, please email me directly and let me know. I would like to try and stay as organized as possible and don't want to leave anyone out if they want to come. We are meeting with the coordinator at 6:00 p.m. so let's try and meet a few minutes before that in the lobby.
My email address is: rupapatadia@yahoo.com.
Thanks,
Rupa
So how did it go last night? I could not make it as my husband was working late, so I needed to be home with the kids.
Hey folks, I was out of town (in AZ for a family reunion) and couldn't attend the Barleycorn field trip. How did it go - look like a good venue? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!
Hello Everyone,
The meeting Wednesday night went really well. Thank you to Jill Weiss and Jennifer (Camp) Jasensky for their help.
Barleycorn is absolutely beautiful. Their room upstairs fits about 1,000 people and is perfect for our reunion.
Here is the recap of our meeting:
-Cost of event will be between $60-$75. This will include food, drinks, decor, etc.
-Times: Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Food and drinks will start at 6:00 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m.
The second floor opens to the public at 9:00 p.m. and there will be a national dj spinning there starting at 10:30 p.m.
-We need your help planning this event. We have decided to break out into three committees: (1) decorations; (2) music/dj; and (3) finding people.
-Our next meeting will be held on Monday, April 21st at Barleycorn to discuss further details.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns or would like to volunteer some of your time to help out with the event.
Thanks,
Rupa
Hey everyone! The venue is great. I'm also working with the few hotels across the street on come group rates for anyone in from out of town or anyone who doesn't want to drive home.
Sounds great! Is this price per person? Or per couple?? I'm assuming spouses are welcome?
the price s per person. we just received the quote from the bar so we are working on an "offical" to widdle the numbers down a bit.
and of course spouses, gf/bf, etc are welcome!
so i guess i need to learn how to type again. i forgot the word BUDGET after "official."
Hey guys I know af a good DJ and I'm sure I can work out a good deal with him being one of my Buds. Let me know if you want me to take a look at this.

Sounds good Chris. We are hoping to be able to use someone from our own class if possible, you know, to show off their talents, etc. We are able also to just hook up an Ipod to the sound system there as well. When we meet April 21st and divide into committees, the people working on the music will start getting deeper into the decision making process for all of this. Come if you can, otherwise I will make sure we keep your friend in mind.
Assuming that they(Barleycorn) aren't that booked up yet because they just opened, but did you book the date, Sept. 6th? Do they need a deposit or anything? Just curious. Great work putting this all together. Sounds like a good time.
Thankfully this is Schaumburg so I can save some money by having place to stay nearby... "Mom...Dad...Can we crash in my old room?"
YES! we are booked with a deposit at Barleycorn for Sept 6! should be a good time :-)
I was wondering if there was an alternative to the price. I realize for $60-75 drinks, food, and entertainment is a good deal if you are a drinker. For people who do not drink, as well as women who may be pregnant at the time I feel there should be an additional option for people who fall into this category. I know the class of 1997 -held at Alumni Club did an optional wristband. So people had the choice if they wanted to purchase each drink or buy a $40 all you can drink wristband. I do not want to offend anyone I just do not want to discourage anyone from coming. Thanks- Nikki Bright
I agree with Nikki, that is an excellent idea. I don't think anyone should pay for drinks if they aren't going to drink or can't.

Also - the projected prices are higher than the price range that received the most votes was. Might be a little discouraging to some. Especially those nondrinkers. Might be nice to have an option for nondrinkers or those just watching the budget.
that is definately a great idea. when we meet again on monday, we will bring that option up to the event folks there. don't see why we couldn't arrage a non alchol package. great ideas everyone!! keep em coming!
um...ok, so what's the word?
i will talk with the bar to get a non alcoholic option added to our contract. we'll have pricing on it after our meeting on Monday, April 21.
Hope to see lots of you for our planning meeting tomorrow, Monday April 21st. We will meet at 6:30pm at Barleycorn, for the address go to www.johnbarleycorn.com.
