There certainly hasn't been alot of talk here after the poll closed. Makes me wonder how accurate the poll really was. In reality - there were many, many 'votes' and for those that post here - well, there aren't that many.
I don't think there has been a lot of talk because, well...the poll closed. I didn't vote for the 6th either, but that's what the decision is. Sam has been working really hard to try to plan this and to be accommodating to everyone. Let's try to keep that in mind.
I agree with Maggie. Sam has done an amazing job putting all of this together. No one asked him to and we should be thankful to him for getting us all on one blog.
We've been on this thing for over a month and a half now and have had multiple votes for different things. No matter what weekend you have the reunion, there will be people who will not be able to make it - it's just a fact. It would be impossible for all of us to agree on one weekend - after all, aren't there are 500 or 600 of us?
I would also like to remind everyone that this was the second poll we had in order to determine a weekend (i.e. thanksgiving vs. labor day weekend). We need to move forward with reserving a space and getting logistics worked out and could use all the time we have.
I didn't vote for the 6th either, but I'm rearranging plans in order to make it because that is what the majority voted for.
Now, if everyone is in agreement, can we move forward with planning this event?
Wow. Sorry. I too appreciate all Sam has done. Just thought I would give it a shot since I can't make it (I'll be in South America for school purposes). Can we do a 15 year reunion?
Wow, some of the hostility being tossed around is just like being back in high school! Hurray! We don't need a reunion...let's just all go down and meet in the cafeteria for a turkey fritter!
I agree with pp that not all hundreds of us are ALL going to be able to make it and and A LOT don't want to make it so let it be and get on with the planning already. Gosh, didn't miss much though, still seems like high school.
What I enjoy most is the anonymous posts...Mmmm, I miss the turkey fritter. The shadiness of the voting process sucked but it's not like there's a huge difference between the dates. So, Sept. 6th it is.
Wow - I've missed some interesting conversations. I miss Turkey Fritter too! I used to put the mashed potatoes and gravy on it and it eat all together...yummy.
Did anyone have any objections to Barleycorn? It opens next week in Schaumburg. They had the best prices I saw for our event. Plus, we can have the entire upstairs until 10:30 p.m. After that time, the second floor opens to the public and a guest dj spins for the night. Might be fun for afterwards.
I can call my contact there to make an appointment for a site visit. That will also give us a chance to meet and talk about our event.
Barleycorn sounds great. I actually did research Entourage, but they were much more expensive. More for your buck at Barleycorn - I say do it! So now what?

Can we have a new poll after we have contacted more students?

I think maybe someone tried to get the votes fixed and found a proxy server to be able to keep voting for the date they wanted!
BOOOOOO! I want a recount! Were there really 195 voters? Come on.
Something isn't right...I think we need a recount, but this time do it some other way so people can't cheat. I can't make it on the 6th.

Let the poll stand. Anyone complaining was probably counting chads in Florida in 2000. See you all on the 6th, now where will I see you?

Thanks again, Sam, for doing this.
The turkey fritters were good!!! Think they'd let alumni back in just to have lunch?? ;)

So, since we know the date now -- what's the venue?

What do you guys think?
Barleycorn sounds fine. I decided not to go to South America with my husband and will be able to go. Let me know when you want to go check it out.
I think Barleycorn or the other Schaumburg bar (name is escaping me right now) that was discussed seem like decent venues.
I am trying to plan the WDW trip around the reunion because I don't want to miss it!

We may need a backup venue - in the event that the first choice is already booked on our date.
Is there anyway to start a list of names on here of who is able to come or coming?
